To All Pioneers Members,
MESSAGE FROM THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT
A reminder of the restrictions on the use of the Cinema Pioneers ID Card
I trust this finds you all well and in good spirits.
As cinemas begin to reopen after the devastating effects of the corona virus it is timely to remind all Pioneers of the limitations and restrictions on the use of the Pioneers ID card.
- Complimentary tickets are not available for films listed as NO FREE LIST.
- Complimentary tickets are not available after 5.00pm on Saturdays or on public holidays.
In the current unprecedented circumstances, to avoid embarrassment it would also be prudent to check the availability of using the Cinema Pioneers card with the relevant cinema before attending a show.
As result of the COVID19 virus, card holders may find that more films are denoted as no free list and the no free list stipulation may be applied for longer periods.
You will be no doubt aware that the COVID19 lockdowns have had a devastating effect industry-wide.
As the cinemas re-open Social Distancing rules will apply, resulting in reduced seating capacities and fewer sessions per day. There will also be a greater requirement for cleaning in both public areas and in the cinemas themselves. Between sessions, auditoriums will have to be cleaned and disinfected; these factors combined will potentially result in diminished box office returns.
For those members who are in a position to purchase tickets, please do so in support of the industry as it recovers from this devastating event.
I ask Cinema Pioneers to please respect the privilege that the Cinema Pioneers ID Card gives you in “normal” times by graciously accepting and adhering to these requirements during this challenging period.
